Cats play a crucial role in the epidemiology of gastrointestinal helminthic parasites and also in transmission of these parasites through fecal contamination of soil, food or water. Fecaland intestinal examination was done for ten samples of Felis catus collected from different sites around Khartoum University building. In the present study the prevalenceof infection with cestodes was found to be 60%, two different species werefound, Dipylidium caninum with a prevalence 60% and Diplopylidium nolleri witha prevalence 30%. Examination of fecal samples indicated infection with several unidentified helminth eggs and a single detection of helminth worm.
