Milk was collected from donkey and camel females from Khartoum North during the period February to march20 lO.Milks proteins were analyzed using Sodium dodycle Sulphate Polyacrlamide gel electrophoresis(SDS_PAGE) for detection of casein alleles in both donkeys and camels. And determination of their genetic polymorphism. Both total milk proteins and caseins were used to detect the variation between and within the two mammalian groups. The alleles of four casein genes (acasiensl, ucasiensz.B casein and k casein)and two proteins (a lacto albumin and ~ lactoglobin) have been detection by gel electrophoresis. The result showed great variation between milks proteins of donkeys and camels. Donkey samples showed more polymorphism between the 5 females than camels' milk samples. The use of SDS-PAGE electrophoresis is found to be a good molecular tool for measurement of genetic diversity within and among populations of donkeys and camels. More detailed studies of milk protein polymorphism are recommended especially in differentiating Sudanese donkey breeds.
