This study tries to investigate the attitudes of teachers of Basic Schools in
Gezira Province towards the Class Teacher System (CTS) and towards
pupils, and to study the correlation of these attitudes with demographic
variables of these teachers. The (CTS) is a pioneering program which
implemented recently when basic schooling is invented and primary
education is replaced by Basic school, so experimentation and scientific
studies may consolidate the usefulness of this new technique.
The researcher applied the attitude scale towards (CTS) and pupils, which
is designed by the researcher. The sample consists of (120) male and
female teachers. Some statistical tests were applied to verify the
hypothesis of this study, those are Sign-test, Pearson Correlation
Coefficient, Mann-whittney test, and Kurskall Wallis test. The study
reached the following findings:
1.The attitudes of teachers of basic schools in Gezira province is
statistically positive in two dimensions: The benefits of using (CTS), and
Selection and training, while the attitudes of the following dimension is
found to be statistically negative: attitudes towards pupils, while the
attitudes towards the difficulties of (CTS) is found to be moderate.
2.There is no significant correlation coefficient between (CTS) and
experience of teaching, except on the dimension of the attitudes towards
the difficulties of (CTS) is found to be negatively correlated with
experience.
3.There is no statistical significant difference in dimensions of the
attitudes towards (CTS) between males and females teachers.
4. There is no statistical significant difference in dimensions of the
attitudes towards (CTS) between trained and non-trained teachers.
5. There is no statistical significant difference in dimensions of the
attitudes towards (CTS) between different teachers who supervised first,
second or third class.
Finally, the researcher cited the references and the appendices, and some
recommendations and suggestions for further studies is proposed. |
