Abstract: This thesis tackles the artistic aspects of the poetry of the Mukh adramin (=the poets whose life span bridges both pre-Islamic and Islamic periods) as in the anthology of al-Mufaddaliyyat (=a famous Arabic collection of poems by pre-Islamic and Islamic poets collected by al-Mufaddal ad-Dabbi, an Arabic scholar and critic). The study is made in five chapters: Chapter I: It is devoted to the author biography and the importance of his collection al-Mufaddaliyyat as to the number of the poems and the explanations made threon. Chapter II: This chapter tackles the lexical meaning of the word al-Mukhadramin and the attitude of Islam toward poetry as from the time of the Prophet (PBUH), the time of the Orthodox Caliphs and the attitude of the Prophet’ companions toward poetry, including the issue of weakness of the Mukhadramin and the Islamic poets. Chapter III: It is a study on the Mukhadramin poets in al-Mufadaliyyat, their number, their tribes, their poetry and the topic they tackled. Chapter IV: It exposes the main elements of the Mukhadramin poem, as to the opening vrses compared with the Arab ancient poetry, the perfect move to other poetic issue (the Khurouj) and the poetic conclusion (the Khawatim) with contrast and comparison with Arab ancient poets. Chapter V: It is about the descriptions of the Mukhadramin, such as naimal description (the camel, the horse and the wild ox), the description of weapon (the sword, the spear and the – armor) as well as the frequent different types of the simile
