Abstract: This study aims at describing and analyzing the new mass-media terms that appeared within the framework of the “Inqaz regime literature” and the use of these terms by the Hausa Radio Programme of the National Radio of Omdurman. In the end a concise glossary of these terms will be compiled and arranged in terms of their semantic fields. The first chapter is an introductory one, which includes the objectives of the study, its significance, its problematic issues, the method of data collection, and a review of related literature. The second chapter comprises two parts. Part One gives brief notes on the social situation of the Hausa in West Africa, whereas Part Two speaks about the Hausa in the Republic of the Sudan: their history of migration and settlement, their geographical distribution and their socio-economic activities. The third chapter is divided into three parts. The first part tries to trace the different phases of the development of special services. The second part speaks about the introduction of special services in Sudan and the third of is about the establishment of Hausa service in Sudan Radio from Omdurman. The fourth chapter also comprises three parts. Part one is on the borrowing from Arabic into Hausa language; Part two is on the borrowing from English into Hausa; Part three: is on the process of coining, redefining and composing of new mass-media Hausa terms. The fifth chapter describes and analyzes the linguistic challenges facing the staff of Hausa service National Radio of Omdurman in communicating information to two Hausa communities with different historical and cultural background, i. e. the Hausa communities in the Sudan and in West Africa. The chapter concludes with a brief glossary of the new mass-media Hausa terms pertaining to the “Inqaz regime literature”. The conclusion and the list of references each constitute a separate part.
