Author: Elsadig Ahmed Jumaa Munhal, Munhal
Abstract: The purpose of this research is to investigate and analyze the techniques and strategies adopted by the secondary school teachers at the Blue Nile State to develop their students' oral fluency in English language. The sample of the research consists of 40 teachers selected randomly. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. It consisted of 20 questions. A descriptive approach of data analysis has been employed in this research. The descriptive analysis concerned mainly with describing problems related to the components of teaching/learning process: the teacher, students, and teaching materials. The data has been provided in forms of frequency, tables and percentages. The results of this research have almost confirmed the following: 1. The training opportunities provided by schools for staff development are too little to enhance the teachers’ capabilities of the teaching/learning process. 2. The teachers have little practical experience of teaching/learning techniques inside the classroom which hinders oral fluency development. 3. The teaching material is not well designed to develop oral fluency
