Abstract
This study sheds light on the status of Labeed's poetry and its literary value as one poetic text that addresses many topics. The first chapter deals with Labeed's life and era (he witnessed both pre-Islam and Islam era), it also deals with the compact of Islam on the lives arab people. The second chapter is descriptive in naluze, in which he details many Rinds of animals (e.g. bulls, cows, Horses, ostriches, pigeons and of course camels. The last chapter portrays the artistic pictures in Moalaqa which are common in pre-Islam poetry. Labeed had imployed rhetorical methods such as euphemism simile, and metaphor. The study concludes that: - Pre-Islamic poets ( including Labeed ) were concerned with description. - It was a common sense for pre-Islamic poets to start their poetry by mouring over the ruins and mention of the beloved one. - Labeed's deep knowledge of his environment is clearly evident in his descriptive style and the way he both conveyed his pains and emotions, and employed is Moallaqa to serve several poetic purposes and different topics. - The Moallaqa presented Labeed as a reverent pious poet which is clear in his focus on nature and avoiding flattery.
