Abstract: Hilwa Dawoud Abu Anga Title: EVAULATION OF GROWTH AND YIELD OF TWO CULTIVARS OF FODDER SORGHUM (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) A field experiment was conducted during March - May 2009, in the Demonstration Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum (latitude 15ْ - 40ْ and long latitude 32ْ – 32ْ E), to evaluate yield of two forage sorghum cultivars and to study the effect of sowing method on some attributes of growth. The cultivars were Abu Sabein and Pannar 888 sown on flat and on ridges. The results showed that the average growth rate/day was higher on the flat, compared to that on the ridge for both sorghum cultivars. Fresh and dry weights of forage Abu Sabein were higher than those of Pannar 888 grown on the flat and on ridges. Leaf / stem ratio for both sorghum cultivars grown on the ridge and on the flat declined with plant age
