Abstract

Through reading and analyzing the republican discourse, the study has aimed at producing knowledge about this discourse as well as formulating and raising questions such as is it possible to associate democracy with an Islamic discourse? What are the characteristics of this programme that we call liberal? And how can such programme be identified with the concept of democracy? The study has also aimed at discovering the permanent and deep-rooted disciplines that produce knowledge within this republican discourse and also the overall mechanisms that produce this republican discourse and also the overall mechanisms that produce this illumination there is on doubt – a relationship between the subject. This relationship is determined by the ability of the method to lead to an illumined by the ability of the method to lead to an illumination or an insight into the subject and the ability to discover what is explicitly said and what is implicitly alluded to. The discourse analysis has - therefore – been the key fool of this study without excluding other methods such as the historical method, because no discourse or tenet exists in the thin air. But can only be well understood within the overall historical environment in which it exists.
