dc.description.abstract The purpose of this studies is to investigate the environmental constrains to food crops productivity in Northern Kordofan State. To achieve such purposes, tabular, and descriptive statistics were applied to secondary data. Algorithmic Cobb-Douglas production function that relates amount of yield to the factors of production was fitted to the data. The result of regression analysis indicated that the area cultivated, and the production were significant factors in the explaining yield variation for both crops. The study consists of five chapters. Chapter one, is introduction of the study. Chapter two is literature review. Chapter three represents the socio-economic characteristics of the area study. Chapter four has provided data analysis. Finally, Chapter five us conclusion and recommendations of the study. The study recommended that special attention have to be given to the protection of forests, enforcing the protection lows and establishing shelter belt to stop desertification. en_US
