Abstract: This study aimed to explain the main factors behind the widespread diffusion of the Mekashfiya tariga (religious sect) in the Gezira and Kordofan areas where the total number of zawiyas that (regional centers) reached 250. This diffusion could be attributed to the good reputation of the tariga, the social and political influence of the founding fathers and their sons and nieces and the mass populations who visit these centers of the tariga annually to perform religious rites and practices such as Al Isra and Al Me'araj occasion. So, they adopted many mechanisms to achieve that such as availing protection to the escaping persons, education, food and traditional medical therapy. From data gathered and analyzed about the Mekashfiya tariga. that concerned with the community under study, the geographical characteristics of the area and it's social, political and administrative organizations, reasons behind the emergence of the Mekashfiya and it's evolution and it's organizational structure, it became clear that the Mekashfiya had diffused because it emerged in ideal circumstances and in a geographical site that enabled it to contact all it's influence locations. The main factor that has led to it's diffusion and continuity is the capacity of the tariga as a social organization in satisfying the community needs in different historical epochs and currently. It's a successful organization that had coped with all social and economic changes. The study also, explained that exogamy and polygamy had been major factors in the diffusion of the tariga. This besides the consistency between the tariga and the community ideologies, socialization process and the main founding father charisma
