Title: Effects Of Some Organic Manures On The Growth Of Males Of The Nile Bulti (Oreochromis Niloticus) In Fish PondsGeophysical investigation for Groundwater Southern Gezira
Author: Mohamed, Nafisa Mahjoub
Abstract: In view of the growing demand for protein food to meet the needs of the increasing population in the Sudan and for the production of local animal protein with low cost, the project was designed to contribute to the solution of this problem through the development and expansion of aquaculture. The investigation was focused on Oreochromis niloticus which is a popular fish used for culture in the Sudan. The study was designed to include many experiments that were conducted at El-Shagara Experimental Fish Farm. The increase of fish production has been followed through the utilization of three organic manures used as single and combined with different proportions drawn from the surroundings that promote growth of natural food in fish ponds. The conclusions from the results obtained are as follows: Organic manures accelerate primary productivity. The use of these organic manures improve growth rate of fish. Combined organic manures are more productive than single ones. The results obtained from the experimentation on organic manures could be used by the practitioners to minimize the cost of production
