Abstract: Maternal mortality is deaths that occur during pregnancy, childbirth or after 42 days of birth. Most of these deaths occur in developing countries, Sudan is one of those countries which suffer from high maternal mortality ratio and is due to several reasons including: the causes of obstetric and non-obstetric. Nor is there the importance of follow-up pregnancy rate of ignorance and poverty, particularly in rural and remote areas in these regions there are also shortage of medical staff and health centers. This research collected data from the Federal Ministry of Health and the Central Agency for Statistics. Because data for this study is not available periodically cannot use the time series that will use the growth rate and Pearson Correlation coefficient. The results of analysis of the high ratio of maternal mortality rate of 3% between 1999 and 2006. In the same period there is a rise in the rate of contraceptive use pregnancy rate of 5%. The low rate of antennal health care for women during pregnancy, the rate of 3%
