Title: Fiber Reinforced Concrete Beams under Shear

Abstract: The thesis embodies the results of experimental investigation of the effect of steel fibers in the shear resistance of reinforced concrete beams. In this study the experimental work was carried out on nine fibrous reinforced concrete beams having variations in the fiber content and their aspect ratio. The results obtained from the aforementioned beams are compared with the corresponding results obtained from a similar test on a non-fibrous beam. The results obtained show that using the steel fibers is advantageous in improvement of the shear resistance in reinforced concrete beams. An observable increase in shear resistance is associated with increase in fiber content as well as the aspect ratio.
