dc.description.abstract This report includes an analysis of a photovoltaic powered water pump installation, with a focus upon D C powered, stand alone direct coupled water pumps. This work identifies practical applications for photovoltaic pump system in Sudan and recommends using permanent magnet D C motors for small system .Experimental work done proved that the photovoltaic array can be well-matched to the motors without need of a special electronic controller en_US
