Abstract: Background: Antenatal care is the care for women during pregnancy, it is main objectives is to reduce maternal and infant mortality. Objectives: This study is aim to asses knowledge and utilization of antenatal care of women of reproductive age in term of frequency and content. Methodology: A community based descriptive cross sectional survey was conducted and sample of 84 women was taken through 2stage sampling: simple random selection of a block, and total coverage of women at that block who fulfill the inclusion criteria (pregnant women and who give birth in the last year) data obtained analyzed manually. Results: 77.38 % of women utilize antenatal care. 83.1% of women prefer to go to doctor for antenatal visits. 78.95% of non utilization is due to ignorance of its important. 76.92% of women who utilize antenatal care have been informed about danger sign of pregnancy. Conclusion: Most women receive antenatal care; this is good but not enough. Community based education must be provide to increase awareness and interest of non utilizing women about antenatal care.
