Abstract: Analgesic drugs act in various ways on the peripheral and central nervous systems; they include:  paracetamol (acetaminophen).  the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as the salicylates  narcotic drugs such as morphine, synthetic drugs with narcotic properties such as tramadol, and various others.  The types involve in this study not include opioids. The painkillers overused by medical students the may have avery severe side effect like nephrotoxicity and pain induced by analgesia. This study aims to asses the use of the pain killers among students in university of Khartoum The types which most commonly used the causes of their use The time when the start to use(before or after the university entry) The amount use per month The frequency of development to resistance to one or more types The types they resist. The study was carried on the university of Khartoum (in Medicine faculty &the faculties of the center).It is the oldest Sudanese university ,in the past was called Gordon university. The study is an analytic cross-sectional study done among the under-graduate students in the university of Khartoum.The sampling is convenient sampling,and the sample size is145.For the data collection questionnaires are used and the data analyze by computer.The study is a clear ethically. The study found that,the number of the students who use the pain killers is large.Paracetamol is NO.1in both the usage and resistance. It must be concluded that, the students should be tell about the side effects of them and offer the knowledge about an alternative ways.
