Abstract: Background: Patient's rights is intended to secure good medical practice, but it can also serve to improve understanding between patients and medical staff if both were aware of their rights Objectives: To determine the level of awareness about patients rights and attitude among the medical students. Methods: descriptive cross-sectional study . questionnaires have been distributed to 121 5th medical students of university of Khartoum containing 25 questions about patient rights and way of behaving with them. Conclusion: 99% of the students either have good a awareness (66%) or low awareness (33%) and only less than 1% of the students are unaware. Recommendation: Increasing level of awareness among medical students toward patients rights is important.
