Abstract: In this research work XRF techniques have been used to analyze different types of cement, by using two x-ray fluorescence methods : x-ray tube excitation and isotopic source excitation . All of the research and experiments have been done at the Nuclear Science Laboratory, University of Khartoum . 9 different samples of cement were collected from the local market and subjected to this study.The aim of the study was to determine the elemental composition and concentration of the elements present in each sample The studies proved that most concentrated elements in all samples were Ca and Fe . However the light elements Si and Al could not be analyzed by XRF techniques.
