dc.description.abstract This thesis mainly assesses and analyses the harmonics measured at point of common coupling (PCC) at the secondary side of service transformer #1 of MTN Communication Company and compares it with international standards IEEE 519-1992. Fluke 435-II power quality analyzer has been used in the measurements procedure. The total current harmonics distortion was measured to be around 19.3%, whereas the total voltage harmonics distortion was measured to be within the acceptable standard level i.e. 5.1%. Filters are effectively used to remove most of the low frequency harmonics. Active filter is recommended to be designed to reduce the total current harmonics to acceptable standard level i.e. 5% instead of 19.3%. dc.description.arabic-abstract تناولت هذه الأطروحة بالتقييم والتحليل التوافقيات والتى تم قياسها بالنقطة المشتركة (PCC) عند المدخل الرئيس للخدمة ناحية الجهد المنخفض لمغذى محول الخدمة رقم (1) لشركة الإتصالات (MTN) و مقارنة ذلك بالمقاييس العالمية (IEEE 519-1992). تم إستخدام جهاز تحليل جودة القدرة الكهربائية من نوع (Fluke 435-II) في عملية القياس. هذا وقد تم قياس تيار التوافقيات الإجمالى (THD) ليكون فى حدود حوالى 19.3% ، بينما تم قياس جهد التوافقيات الإجمالى ليكون فى الحدود القياسية المسموح بها حوالى 5.1%. المرشحات (FILTERS)يتم إستخدامها بفعالية فى إزالة معظم التوافقيات ذات التردد المنخفض وقد أوصت الدراسة بتصميم مرشح لخفض تيار التوافقيات الإجمالى ليكون فى الحدود القياسية المسموح بها أى 5% عوضاً عن 19.3 % . en_US
