Title: Secured Routing in MANET: Attacks and Solutions

Abstract: The objectives of this thesis is to study the effects of DoS attack in MANET using both proactive routing protocol i.e. Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) and reactive routing protocol i.e. Temporally Ordered Routing Protocol (TORA). Comparative analysis of DoS attack for both protocols is taken into account. The measurements are taken in terms of throughput, end to end delay and network load. The experiments are done in Optimized Network Engineering Tool(OPNET) simulator and the investigation is carried out by comparing the results for both types of protocols under the attack to analyze which of these two types of protocols are more vulnerable to DoS attack and has more impact on the MANET. From the results that obtained it was conclude that reactive routing protocol is more affected by the attack compared to proactive routing protocol.
