Abstract: This research tries to investigate the general characteristic that distinguishes the emotional equilibrium among departments’ managers at the central campus-university of Khartoum. The research also aims at studying the relationship between emotional equilibrium with decision-making ability and some other variables such as gender, age, experience and job class. The researcher adopted the descriptive-correlation method to achieve these objectives. Purposive sampling method was applied to select a sample of (77) academic and managerial staffs (46 males, 20 female) whose ages range between 31-66 years. The researcher used the following scale to collect the data of the present research: emotional equilibrium scale and decision-making ability scale designed by Mohmmed Kamal Hamdan and bibliographical data sheet. Statistical Package for social sciences was applied to analyze the data of this research by using T-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The most important results of the study are as follows; Emotional equilibrium is statistically high among the population of the study. There is no significant difference in emotional equilibrium among the population according to job-class (Academic-Managers). There is no significant difference in emotional equilibrium among the population according to years of experience level. There is a significant positive correlation coefficient between emotional equilibrium with decision-making ability. There is no correlation between emotional equilibrium and ages of department managers of Khartoum University. Finally, the researcher suggested some recommendations such as activating periodical training courses to promote the efficiency of work especially in the area of emotional equilibrium.
