dc.description.abstract This research aimed at addressing the effect of electronic learning (e-learning) on developing problem solving skills on calculus (2) syllabus for first level students of physics at the faculty of education, university of Khartoum. The research followed the experimental and descriptive methodologies. The study population consisted of the first level students of mathematics, physics, and chemistry at the faculty of education, university of Khartoum. A purposive sample of 60 students was selected from the first level students of physics, who were registered for calculus (2) syllabus. They were divided into two groups; an experimental group, and control group. The data obtained were analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The appropriate statistical methods were applied. A number of findings were reached, the most important are: There are statistical significant differences at 0.05 level of significance on the average degrees of the experimental group students, and the control group students in the skill of problem solving as a whole, and the partial embodied skills in favor of the experimental group. There are positive attitudes of the students towards the use of electronic learning in mathematics teaching. On the light of these findings, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations, the most important are: The faculty of education needs to adopt e-learning system according to deliberate steps. Also, there is a need for the provision of infrastructure and rehabilitation of human sources including teaching staff, students and technicians. There is a need to use e-learning in all its forms, not just in teaching mathematics. The staff members of the faculty of education need to use teaching methods that help students access to knowledge by themselves, and apply that knowledge, and use it to overcome the problems confronting them in their daily lives. en_US
