Abstract: Abstract: This study was conducted at Elsilaitscheme, Khartoum State, located at 35 km north east of Khartoum, at the intersection of 15°29´N, 32º42´E and 377m above mean sea level, during November 2013 to May 2014 to evaluate the hydraulic performance of drip irrigation system under open field conditions. Theoperating pressures used were1.2, 1.5 and 1.8bars. The measured parameterswere coefficient of uniformity (CU %), scheduling uniformity (SU), coefficient of variation (CV %), and emission uniformity (EU %).The experiment was organized in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The SAS statistical package was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the mean value of CU %, EU, SU and CV for the operating pressure 1.5 were 85%, 1.10, 98% and 8 % respectively.These values were considered superior to those obtained under the operating pressures of 1.8 and 1.2 bars which were respectively 80%, 1.30,92.5% and 22% and 63%, 1.59, 94.3%and 17%. Based on the encouraging results obtained in this study the expansion in the uses of drip irrigation system at large open field conditions is highly recommended.
