Abstract: Chemosystematics provide a wealth of data on the chemical constituents of plants and have the potential to provide a new insight into the taxonomical problems at the generic level or below. The flavonoids generally and C-prenylated flavonoids in particular have considerable potential as taxo-nomic and phylogenetic markers among members of the genus Tephrosia.
