Abstract: The study aimed at introducing suggested central laboratories for natural sciences (chemistry, physics and biology) to reduce the cost of education in secondary level of education in Omdurman locality. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method. The study population comprised 244 male and female science subjects' teachers at governmental schools in Omdurman locality. 100 male and female teachers were randomly selected as the study sample، they represented %40 of the study population. In addition 11 education experts، planning experts and economists، were also purposefully selected as sample for the study. Two types of tools were used in the study: a questionnaire directed to science subject teachers and an interview carried out with education and planning experts and economists. The researcher used the statistical package for package for social science analysis to process the data. The study came to a number of findings of which the most important are ; Central laboratories contribute to great extent in reducing cost of education in secondary schools، because it is highly cost to establish a laboratory in each individual school. One of the basic requirements of establishing central laboratories is that it should be in a central position where all schools can easily reach it. All material and the necessary devices to carry out all the experiments involved in the curriculum should be made available. Central laboratories contribute to a great achieving the objectives of teaching science subjects. One of the difficulties that establishing central laboratories may face is lake of fiscal resources and human resources (qualified technicians for laboratories)، and also science subjects teachers lack the experience to deal with the materials and devices of the central laboratories in the light of the findings، the researcher set a number of recommendations، the most important are the ministry of education should allocates budgets to establish central laboratories that match the laboratories in the developed countries، because the laboratories are one of the basic factors in achieving the objectives of teaching science subjects. Technicians should train through training courses on how to operate، repair and prevent devices. Those who are not trained should not be hired. An intensive continual evaluation for the curriculum of natural science should be done. The current assessment methods including these for Sudan school certificate exams should be replaced by other assessment methods that respect all of the cognitive and psycho-kinetics domains، which concern the practical side. The researcher suggested conducting further studies related to central laboratories.
