Abstract: This study aimed to identify the reality of the use of multimedia in learning the students of English language departments the skill of listening from the standpoint of the teaching staff in education faculties at universities in Khartoum state. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical methodology; the study population consisted of the staff of the departments of English language in faculties of education at universities in Khartoum state, the researcher used the questionnaire as a tool to collect data. It was distributed to a purposive sample of 40 male and female teachers, representing the population whole study, The researcher analyzed data using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS ). The study reached to a number of findings, The most important are: some of multimedia are used in learning the skill of listening to students of English departments in the faculties of education at universities in Khartoum state, A number of hardware and educational software for the use of multimedia in learning the skill of listening to the students of English departments are available. These multimedia contribute in developing the English language skills, and help in learning a large number of students. They also take in to account the individual difference among students. In the light of the study findings, The researcher recommended the following: The provision of multimedia used in learning listening skill is necessary for the English language departments at the faculties of education. It is necessary to make the faculty staff aware about the use of the multimedia devices, and their role in developing the skills of learning English language. Training courses in the field of using multimedia are required at the faculties of education.
