Abstract: This research tackled the strategy of the Russian foreign policy after the collapse of the Soviet Union-Model of the Russian-Western relations 1991-2015, and it aimed at investigating the development of the Russian strategic thinking towards the West, and to studying the form of the relation between Russia and the West which took the direction of rivalry and cooperation which is not free from differences or contradictions in visions and policies, likewise, it aims at considering Russia as a regional and international power, monitoring the challenges facing it and throwing light on the most salient attitudes of the Russia leaders in confrontation of the Western encirclement and siege of Russian national security. It also aimed to examine Russia's eastern attitudes towards China and India for the formation of important strategic partnerships which paved the way to the supremacy of a multi-polar world order. The research adopted the historical/descriptive method to trace the courses of the Russian strategy in the pre-collapse stage and it interpreted and analyzed the data of the international reality. It also described and analyzed the tools and interpret the points of departure of the Russian decision-makers in the process of international mobility. The research relied on books, periodical articles and interviews as primary sources. The research arrived at a number of findings, the most important are: the relation between Russia and the West become characterized by rivalry more than power struggle, and that the United State in the framework of the aggrandizement of its national interests is seeking the encirclement and weakening of its rivals specially Russia, and that Russia considers the infringement of its national security and lebensraum a red line, and in the interest of safeguarding its national security, Russia adopts various political and military ways and methods. Likewise, the research arrived at a number of recommendations and among them: the West should restraint the influence curtailment policy which it pursues towards Russia, and the observance of the Russian interests in determining the rules in the international game, where the current international situation has proved that the West cannot move a part from Russia, and that Russia should not forsake the military force card last it will burn the rest of its non-military cards
