Abstract: Livestock production plays a major part in rural economy and social stability. It is the main supplier of high quality proteins, cash for families, draught power, satisfaction of religious and social festivals, and manure for the soil. In addition it is a way of living to people and their families (Harbi, 1992). Most of the developing countries have been fighting against the problem of how to adequately feed their livestock, because of inadequate production of conventional ingredients for livestock feeding, so the scarcity of feed sources often imposes a major challenge in livestock production in the countries (Aregheore, 2000).
