Abstract: Sudan is one of the largest countries in Africa and it contains wide rang of vegetations. The vast area and the climatic variations make the Sudan suitable place for livestock populations. Sudan has large livestock populations estimated in 2009 as 140.9 million heads; out of this number about 41.6 million heads are cattle, 51.5 million heads of sheep, 43.3 million heads of goat and 4.5 million heads of camel (ministry of animal resources and fishereies, 2010).
