Author: Eltatai, Asma Edrees Elgunied
Abstract: During the last years, the Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) based on the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.11 standards family, have turned into one of the most promising and successful technologies. Lying on that WiFi provide free wireless connectivity to end users, offering an easy and viable access to the network. The main objectives of this thesis areto study WiFistandardsIEEE 802.11 a, b, g, n and ac family and to run some sort of comparisonstudy between different standards. Thiscomparison study was conduct according to the following parameters:delay performance, datadrop, and load and network throughput by using Opnet simulation software version 17.5.Four different scenariosimplemented. The results of simulation were graphs and reading illustrating: delay performance, data drop, load and network throughput for each standard, then the best was ac, then n of standards respectively.
