Title: الرثاء عند الهذليين
Author: نور الدائم, عمر الحبر يوسف
Abstract: Lamentation characterized the poetry of AL- Hudhaliyin. They are a tribe which had the chance of having all its poetry, written in one collection (Diwan). Most of this poetry was on lamentation. The poetry of Hudhayl was mainly on lamentation, and this characterized their poetry with special features different from others. These tribes lived on the slopes of the mountains, thus they were known by the spread of revenge among them, and were keen to avenge. They were known as people with intense loyalty to their tribe. The research intended to study the lamentation poetry of Hudhayl in the light of these characteristics, which may be features of all mountain people. The research adopted the descriptive analytical methodology to study AL- Hudhaliyin and their lives. The research stressed on poetry rather than narrations,Akhbar. The main sources of the research were the poetry of AL-Hudhaliayin, in the collection of AL- Hudhaliyin and their poetry, written by Abu Sa'eed Alsukari as well as books of literary criticism. The research reached too many findings: Lamentation dominated the poems Al-Hudhaliyin for a number of reasons the most important of; that Al-Hudhaliyin were mountain people, living as Bedeween in the mountains, and the natures of the people of the mountains is reluctance of outsiders and sincerity towards kin and their intolerance to all what is strange. This has resulted in the large number of killings, either through fighting and revenge especially since they tend -by the nature of the mountainous life - to vagabondism (Al Salaga) and they tended to take off tramps of vagabonds, thus they righted with many enemies. Alhzlion had a poetic doctrine, which was a prominent feature related to meanings and symbols related to bereavement and nostalgia. Also animal stories that which was full of contemplation and proverbs, and connected to the description and artistic imaging phenomena. Ends and beginnings of their poems were characterized by description and images related to death or spinning on what is usually not held by the Arabs. The research recommends preparing a special study on the animal symbolism in lamentation poetry of Al- Hudhaliyin.
