Abstract: The objective of the study is to investigate the problems of teaching ESP in four of the Sudanese universities; namely, Khartoum University, Sudan University for Science and Technology, Omdurman Islamic University and Ahfad University for Women. The investigation includes ESP syllabus content and incorporation of English language skills within the ESP curriculum in the Sudanese universities. The main tools of this research are questionnaires that are designed for the ESP lecturers, and structural interviews designed for the heads of ESP departments. The sample size comprises 34 subjects taken out of 63 ESP lecturers and heads of departments of the universities understudy where ESP is anticipated to be administered as a part of their academic program. The analysis of the data collected showed that there are some problems in teaching ESP in the universities understudies. The problems include lack of training of the ESP lecturers, insufficient ESP Syllabus’ content in addition to the low level of learner at English language. To overcome these problems, the research recommends better lecturers’ training in the field of ESP, and provision of sufficient ESP material course which is to be developed based on learners needs. ESP syllabuses should include English language’s skills within the ESP curriculum. The study also suggested further studies in this field as it is important to investigate and overcome problems of teaching ESP in the Sudanese universities
