Abstract: This study tackles the physical plans of Damazin town in the Blue Nile state: 1961-2010, and Damazin town was selected so as to investigate the extent of the application of these plans with regard to the efforts which were exerted for the reconstruction of this town in particular,as the problem of the study was concerned with the nature of the physical plans which were used in the planning of Damazin town, and how an organizational layout be candesigned to Damazin town for the improvement of its present and future condition. This research aims at investigating the problems of the physical planning whichDamazin town is facing due to rural-to-urban migration, the problems of displacement due to the civil war, the expansion in the enterprise of building and construction and laying down the appropriate solutions for these problems. The study used the descriptive-analytical method and the physical structure method, which relies on the study of the contrast between the social and spatial patterns in the city.This method is adopted with the intention to know the extent of the apprehension of those in charge of the planning of Damazin town of the variables and the relevant factors to the determination of the locations and placements of the basic services. The data were collected from the primary and secondary sources, includingquestionnaire,personal interviews, periodicals and reports. The sample of the study consisted of 214 families; they were distributed in varying proportions according to the family size and they were examined and analyzed to infer the correct relationships and interpretations and to conduct the linkage between the parts of the subject matter through the Statistical Package of Social Science program (SPSS). The study arrived at a number of findings, the important of which revealing: lack of a drainage system for the neighborhoods, roads and markets; lack of any map for the land uses in the state; lack of a reference information and data base for the physical plans and the non- expansion of the services in the light of the rapid increase of the population and the rising rates of urban growth. The study recommends rehabilitation of the war-affected areas, and providing the basic services and constituents so as to encourage the displaced to return to their original villages.
