Data Mining Tool for Telecom Networks Logs Analysis

Abstract

Network monitoring and logging is very important for performance tracking, services development and relationships analysis. New concepts such as data mining, knowledge discovery and online analytical processing lead the revolution of data analysis. The objective of this study is to use different data mining techniques in a comparative way to discover relationships between variables in networks logs. Such study will help companies to understand the dynamics of their networks. The results confirmed potential of data mining techniques to analyze network logs and highlighted some of the relationships between different parameters. But it also showed that results are very sensitive for underlying assumptions
