Abstract: This study includes the determination of the contents of some of the major components of camel’s milk; and to compare them with their counterparts in cow’s milk. The samples were analyzed chemically to determine the percentage of Protein, Fat, Total Solids (TS), Solid Non Fat (SNF), Lactose and Ash contents. Also included in the present study, is a comparative investigation of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) concentrations in samples of both types of milk by redox titration using iodine solution. For essential metals the raw milk sample was digested by wet digestion system, and then the metals (Na and K) were determined by flame photometer in the solutions of digested samples while, (Ca and Mg) were determined directly by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer (FAAS). The investigation showed that Protein, Fat, Total Solid, Solid Non Fat; Lactose and Ash content were low in camel milk as compared to cow milk. Also, the major metals were higher in cow milk, but ascorbic acid content is high in camel’s milk.
