Title: Design and Implementation of 2-Way Gysel Power Divider/Combiner at Uhf Band

Abstract: Today semiconductor technology has limitations in the maximum power per device. To obtain higher power, it is necessary to combine several amplifier modules of the same or different types. This thesis presents the design and implementation of a 2-way Gysel power divider/ combiner at UHF band, (820- 890 MHz), for using it in the UHF RADAR transmitter that produces 8KW output power. The 2-way Gysel power divider/combiner is designed on RT/Duroid 5880 substrate using the Advance Design System 2009 (ADS) simulation program. For practical reasons microstrip and fabricated printed circuit board technologies were used, which lead to low manufacturing costs, compact size and weight, The network analyzer was used to measure the results of the return loss, insertion loss and isolation between the output ports for both the hardware implementation; the results showed that the simulation and hardware implementation were close to each other, and were within the acceptable limit.
