Abstract: Background &objectives: insecticides resistance has been a problem in all insect groups that serve as vectors of emerging diseases. The objective of this study was to monitor the vector of malaria resistance to DDT 4% and Malathion 5% in Elshigylab sentinel sites at Gabel awllia locality, Khartoum state . Material and methods: The study was conducted in Elshigylab Malaria Sentinel site, Jebel awlia locality, Khartoum State to study the sensitivity of An. Arabiensis mosquitoes to DDT 4% and Malathion 5%. Mosquitoes were tested for their sensitivity to both insecticides following WHO standards and using test kits provided by WHO. Results: Mosquitoes were found resistance to both DDT 4% (83% mortality) and Malathion 5 %( 66% mortality). Conclusion: Populations of An arabiensis tested in Elshygilab-sentinel site 2007, were found resistant to DDT 4% and Malathion 5%.
