Abstract: The aim of the research is to simulate single –effect of Absorption cooling Systems using CHEMCAD program. The absorption cycle consists of a generator, a condenser, an evaporator an absorber, a heat exchanger, two expansion valves and a pump. Each component is considered as a steady state flow process, and the mass flow rate of the refrigerant was constant throughout the cycle. LiBr-H2O was used as the working fluid and the cooling coefficient performance of the system has been predicted. Moreover the suskm coefficient of performance (COP) was analyzed by varying all independent parameters, namely: evaporator pressure, condenser pressure, mass flow rate, LiBr concentration, and inlet generator temperature. It is known that the generator is the most power consuming equipment, followed by condenser, absorber and the evaporator. Thus more studies on energy consumption of the generator should be conducted. The generator inlet temperature is an important factor to design an effective absorption cooling system. The LiBr-H2O solution showed higher cooling performance and higher COP .The COP value obtained in the range of the inlet generator temperature 70ºC-110ºC was 0.89-0.97. The higher COP value was obtained for lower LiBr concentration in the solution. The cooling and heating capacity increased with the inlet generator temperature .A maximum cooling capacity of 45Kw at 110 ºC and a maximum heating capacity of 45.3Kw at 110 ºC were recorded.
