Title: فاعلية برنامج إرشادي لتعديل أساليب التنشئة الاجتماعية الخاطئة للأمهات بوحدة الشهداء الإدارية

Abstract: The objective of this research is to design and implement a counseling program to modify mal-socialization styles among mothers at Alshuhadaa locality in Khartoum. The study also intends to know the differences in the effectiveness of the counseling program to modify mal-socialization styles among mothers at Alshuhadaa locality in Khartoum according to the following variables: level of education, mother's work, and the number of children. To achieve the objectives of the study the researcher adopted the experimental method-one group design. The tools of the study comprised the mal-socialization styles scale, and a counseling program, prepared by the researcher. A simple random sample of 26 mothers was chosen from the population of the study. The data were analyzed by the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) applying the following tests; T-test for paired groups, One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and T-test for independent groups. The study came out with the following findings:Counseling program is statistically effective in improving the mal-socialization styles adopted by mothers of Alshuhadaa Locality in Khartoum State. There are no statistically significant differences in the effectiveness of the counseling program according to the level of education, work of the mother and the number of children. Depending on the above findings,the researcher suggested a set of recommendations, including developing training programs for mothers to adopt healthy socialization styles, and enlightening mothers on children's needs at and the characteristics of the stages of growth. Also the researcher developed proposals for future studies as an extension of the current study.
