Abstract: This study aims at investigating the correlation coefficient between the major five personality factors (Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Conscientiousness, Agreeableness) with emotional intelligence among the first students of Sudanese School Certificate (2011-2015) at Khartoum University. A descriptive-correlation method was applied to achieve these goals. Purposive random sampling method was applied to select a sample of 200 university students (86 male, 114 female) who achieved a position among the first 100 students of Sudan Certificate during 2001-2015. This is whereas the tools of data collection comprised the following; The Major Five Personality Factors Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale and bibliographical data sheet. The data was analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) applying the following tests: Alpha Kornbach, T-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, One Way analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Regression and Multiple Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The most important results of the study were: personal factors (Extraversion, Openness, Conscientiousness, and Agreeableness) were statistically significant at 0.001. the neurotransmitter was statistically significant at 0.001. The results showed that there was a positive correlation between the factors of personality (Extraversion, Openness, Conscientiousness, and Agreeableness) and emotional intelligence, while there was a significant correlation between the neurotic factor and emotional intelligence at the level of significance 0.001. There was no significant difference in the major five personality factors among the first students of Sudan Certificate according to gender (male, female). Some dimensions of emotional intelligence can significantly predict major five personality factors. Finally, some recommendations were postulated by the researcher, one of which is importance of paying more attention to these students to foster their abilities and aspiration.
