Abstract: The energy is the most important element in the economic development the increasing the growth population, thus increasing demand of energy, renewable energy sources should take a place especially solar are rapidly gaining popularity in the electricity generation. There are many types of solar systems one of them is the grid connected system. The advantage of Sudan geographical location should be used to solve the several outages the happened due to the increased demand of energy. This project aims to construct a grid connected system topology that can be implemented in EN21 and EN26 as continuous supply of power during the working hours. An introduction of solar systems and its different types is provided in the begging and explaining the basic concepts of the Grid-Tied system obtaining the reason why its desired. This design is modeled and simulated using ETAP software, it composed of the PV array, Grid tie inverter, Automatic Transfer Switch and Uninterruptable power supply. Its ready to be implemented in real life would solve the power outage to keep the supply and reduce the cost with keeping a suitable efficiency. This design lays the ground work for further development and it also explores the possibility of providing more advanced features and services.
