Title: Development of Solar System Educational Training Kit
Author: Mohammed, Osama Mirghani Saad
Abstract: In the modern world of today where the population of people in the earth is in constant growth the demand for energy is drastically increasing. To meet these demands the need for a sustainable and reliable energy source arises, where the current sources are finite and limited and are very harmful to the environment. These sources should be infinite and renewable over time, one of these sources is the sun, the utilization of the sun through the solar conversion process using photovoltaic cells to generate electricity is one of the most used alternative sources. The implementation of these solar systems requires a very good understanding for the photovoltaic effect and the solar conversion process, and the practical skills needed to deal with the components and hardware involved in these systems. In most educational systems there is a gap between this theoretical knowledge and the practical use of it, where the students do not have the basic skills like measuring the currents and voltages. The aim of this project is to implement an educational solar training kit to provide a practical platform for the students to experiment and hone their practical skills.
