Title: A Study Of The Frequency Spectrum Utilisation Efficency In Moble Radio Systems
Author: El Sayed, Maathir Obeid
Abstract: Finite nature of usable radio spectrum resource and the growing in the number of users obligates the system operator to study the various systems efficiencies, which help them to choose the best design and configuration to satisfy the vendor and user needs. continuous change in application requirement, needs evolution in mobile system technologies or in other word, increasing the systems efficiency, to ensure these variation accommodations. In this study the concept of the spectrum efficiency is clearly defined, different methods were used to calculate the mobile radio systems efficiency (in bit per second per hertz) and comparison were made in the different duplexing modes, for both American and European standards starting from the second generation of the mobile system, goes by third generation and ending with the fourth generation which is the last implemented generation till now.
