Abstract: This study aimed to assess the impact of Seleit agricultural scheme services on farmer's socio-economic status. This scheme was chosen due to its economic importance in Khartoum state, and its role in food security. The study depended on primary data which were collected from 120 farmers from a study population of 2385 farmers. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the collected data by the program of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The results revealed that for 40% of the respondents the age span was 40-44 years indicate to their experience in agricultural work, 68.3% of the respondents have obtained advanced education, expected to positive impact on agricultural work. The income of 57.5% of the respondents was more than 4000 SDG per month. This indicates that the scheme has high impact on farmers income, 92.5% of the respondents are married and have basic services such as electricity, drinking water, and gas of cooking. 61.7% of the respondents received social services such as: health days, control of malaria control of mosquito and bilharzias dicease. 76.7% of the respondents benefited from agricultural extension programs, while 23.3% of them did not receive extension services, 74.2% of the respondents received agricultural services: (setting land, irrigation, seed, fertilizers and the pest control) but 25.8% of them have not received this service, 100% all of respondents indicated that there was lack of water to irrigation. The study showed that Seleit scheme played an important role in socio-economic development to farmers. Several recommendations were suggested to develop and improve the performance in the scheme to enhance socio-economic status for farmers, The recommendations included: providing water for irrigation to solve the problem radically and enters modern system irrigation in scheme, Activation of the role of agricultural extension, and generalization the agricultural services to all farmers in the scheme should be emphasized.
