Abstract: The objective of this study was to use geographical information system in Electrical Network analysis for Khalil Othman substation. The network used in the analysis is for Khalil Othman 33/11 KV substation with 40 MVA for the transformers total capacity. The substation Feeds loads in Khartoum North industrial Area by 7 feeders with 11 KV line. A geographic information system Esri Arc GIS 9.3 software was used to develop a geodatabase file contains database and maps for Transformers, Overhead lines, cables and busbars to the studied area to show the overall network infrastructure and its relation to each other. The collected data were prepared in Arc GIS software by creating Geometric Network model helps in linking the network elements to each other and single line diagram created to show location and route of the lines. The developed map were exported to ETAP v12.5 program and a single lie diagram created to calculate the power flows around the system load flow analysis using Gauss Seidel Method. The obtained results showed that the area of study is very loaded by 146% and more than 75% of the junction voltages are under voltage by 90%. The results of ampere range are between 650 A and 8.2 A. Junction voltages and ampere flow of the networks are presented in the maps to help in good decision making for managers, designers and operators. The constructed database showed that the loads is not well distributed in the feeders and the lines should be redistributed.
