Abstract: This study aims at investigating the reality and the recent developments of the specialization of the Libraries and Information sciences in the Sudanese universities at Khartoum state,the bachelor level ,in addition to the academic courses in the departments. It also aims to know the difficulties and the problems which are facing the process of teaching this specialization acquired the best method of the educational process. The problem of the study is cantered in the rigidity of the curricula and courses of the departments of libraries and informatics and their non-coping with the new developments ,which leads to the occurrence of a gap between the outputs of the departments and the professional requirements of the labour market .In addition to the weakness of the educational process in teaching the specialization of the science of the libraries and information in the departments . For the confirmation of the hypotheses of the study and achievement of its objectives ,the study used the following scientific method:the descriptive/analytical/survey/comparative/historical method .For the data collection the study relied on the primary sources such as the interview and the questionnaire in addition to the content analysis method ,and the secondary sources which are represented in the paper and non-paper sources . The study reached to several findings and among them:the need of the courses of the specialization of the libraries and information science for the development and up-dating through the omission,addition and integration of some courses and restructuring them .The study also showed the concentration of the departments of libraries on the theoretical aspect in teaching the courses more than the practical، and that the most used methods in teaching the courses of the specialization are the lectures and the seminars. Moreover the study revealed that the main problems which are facing the libraries departments in the Sudanese universities at Khartoum state is the deterioration of the infrastructure of the libraries departments. The study set forth several recommendations and among them:the necessity of the reconsideration of the curricula and courses of the specialization of the science of the libraries and information ,the development of the educational process so as to cope with the new developments and to meet the requirements of the local and international labour market, and the use of modern methods in teaching ,to lay down the quality assurance and standards and the academic accreditation of the specialization program; and the standards of the institutional accreditation for the departments of libraries and information in the Sudanese universities ,and to pay attention to the infrastructure of the departments of libraries.
