Abstract: This research aims to define the conflict in Darfur. in its relation to scarcity of resources, and the affect of such variables in the intervention of new actors, and concentrating on the developing of African conflict management through the different mechanisms, and modern institutions in order to achieve the goals of peace and security in the continent. Further more this research aims at considering the modern concepts of peace and security and the necessity of revising conflict through peace and security council and the challenges that faced conflict management in Darfur. The research adopts the descriptive and analytic methodolgy by describing events and linking it with comprehensive formula aiming at organizing the events in a way that leads to conclusions. The analytic methodology used for the purpose of analyzing events but it mainly depends on the method of the case study to dominate Darfur conflict as a whole. In addition to the emerging of other phenomenas coincide with the conflict. The research depends on considerable number of references and sources both primary and secondary ones. the main results of the research are as follows : The conflict in Darfur represents a unique case due to the complicated conflict and the interactions of actors in spite of the attempts to modernize the instituation of AU to cope with the nature of the conflict and the challenges that emerge locallay regionally and internationally.it appears that the AU should maintain effective mechanisms in order to deal with the conflicts in the African continent Further more the shortage of financing and the weakness of political will are behind the partial success of African missions in general and the African mission in Darfur in particular The research recommends promoting collective security missions according to the size of the complicated conflicts in the Africa . to enhance the role of the peace security council in Africa and completion of mechanisms which are included in the charter of the peace and security council. It also recommends the necessity of solving Darfur problem according to enternal dialogue to lead to a permanent peace.
