Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the effect of the two mastery learning strategies of Bloom and Keller on the achievement of mathematics, to recognize which of the two strategies is more effective than the other for scholastic retarded pupils. The importance of this study is that each of the two strategies of Bloom and Keller has great significance for scholastic retarded pupils and for the normal pupils as well. The experimental approach is used in this research. The population of this study consists of all students in the sixth class of the basic education grade in Omdurman locality. The sample selection was achieved by purposeful method and its size was 86 male and female pupils were selected among the basic sixth class. The tools used by the researcher was the pre and post achievement test, formative tests, and mastery tests, observation cards for data collection. And to reach findings, the researcher used the statistical analysis SPSS, consisting of T test, and analysis of variance. The study reached the following results; there are statistical differences among of the two experimental groups and the control group, in favor of the two experimental groups in the achievement exam in the post-test: there are no statistical differences in the post-test in mathematics subject between the two experimental groups; there are no statistical differences between the males and females in achievement of mathematics by using the two strategies. The researcher recommended the need for using learning individualization, the importance of a formative evaluation, a diagnosis of cases of the scholastic retarded pupils is a must, investigating all the information concerning them, besides preparing curriculums and programs specialized for scholastic retarded pupils.
