Abstract: This research is a description and analysis of the economic and social situation in the Darfur region, taking the displaced and their lives as a basis for explaing the economic and social situation of the inhabitants of the region. It aims to find out what awaits the economically and socially displaced people after the cessation of the war. It also aims to try to develop short-term and long-term development plans for the return of displaced persons to their villages of origin by creating an environment that accommodates them economically and socially. The search used interview tools and questionnaires as primary sources where a random sample was selected from within the three camps of El Fasher as well as interviews with mayors and camp directors. In addition, the researcher used secondary sources such as books, articles, and web sites information. Statistical tools have been used to analyze data such as Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and others. The variance test for the statistical function of the research assignments by Ki squared value (0.000) with a morale level of less than (5%). This indicates that there is a statistical connotation between the terms of the research and its hypothesis. The results of the research showed that the displaced depend partially on reliefs because of its scarcity. They are in a desire to return to their villages from which they fled provided that security is primarily maintained, as their villages continue to witness attacks in fall season from the armed militias. During this season some of them have seasonal return to their villages for agriculture that helps sustain their living in addition to reliefs. The demand for services was secondary for the displaced. The research also found that the lack of development planning was the main factor in the deterioration of the services, the decline in growth and the lack of sustainability and development projects in Darfur, which led to the emptying of the region from its working human resources that work in agriculture and grazing. Agriculture and grazing are the backbone of Darfur economy that contributes substantially to the total national production of the Sudan;hence the war has its negative impact on the economy. The research concluded with recommendations, including the necessity and importance of economic and social development planning for the return of displaced persons or their settlement according to their wishes, the priority in planning should be for the security aspect as it is the basis for any economic or social development. The research also recommends the development of multi-term development plans to develop displaced persons, to bring about quantitative and qualitative changes in their livelihoods, to take advantage of the territory's resources and to support the relief organizations operating there, added to this the introduction of innovative ways to enhance food security and self-reliance among people who have been receiving assistance or are unemployed by building their capacities and enabling them to cope with crises.
